Prominent Portland-based graphic novelist Craig Thompson will demonstrate his art in the Schnitzer Sculpture Court and will talk with visitors about the art of comics, graphic novels, and zines. A graphic novelist best known for his 2003 work Blankets, Thompson has received numerous awards for his work. Since 2004, Thompson has been working on Habibi, a new graphic novel to be published by Pantheon Books. The book is influenced by Arabic calligraphy and Islamic mythology.Free for members or with Museum admission.
